As our Prize Patrol made its final stop of the year, we celebrated more than just one final grant. We celebrated a full year of impact in classrooms across East Chambers ISD. The 2025–2026 grant cycle has been one to remember! Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the East Chambers ISD Education Foundation proudly awarded $66,756.41 in grants this year—funding innovative ideas, enriching student experiences, and empowering educators across the district.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Impaired Driving Interactive Education Grant
To close out the season, Constable Rodney Kahla was awarded a $4,500 grant to bring a powerful, hands-on learning experience to students at East Chambers High School—one that highlights the real-life dangers of impaired decision-making. Through the use of specialized goggles, students will take part in everyday tasks like walking a straight line, stacking cups, and navigating a pedal car course. While simple on the surface, these activities quickly demonstrate how alcohol affects coordination, reaction time, and judgment. This immersive experience helps students move beyond theory and truly understand the consequences of impaired driving and risky behavior. The learning doesn’t stop with the activity. Through guided discussions and student reflection, students will make meaningful connections between the simulation and real-world choices—developing a deeper understanding of personal responsibility and strategies to avoid dangerous situations.
Be Part of the Impact
Every grant, every classroom experience, and every student opportunity starts with the support of our community. If you believe in creating meaningful learning experiences like this one, we invite you to give and be part of the difference. https://www.ecisdef.com/support-us
